Stage 6 - Visit from Julie Krasniak

Julie Krasniak came out to visit the Réve Team
Stage 6 was yet again another flat stage without much drama on the cycling side of things.  We were lucky enough to have the amazing Julie Krasniak waiting for us at the end in her hometown of Metz.  Julie is an awesome professional cyclist who ride for the Rapha-Focus cyclocross team out in the US.  I met her this summer while she was training in Boulder to prepare for the French National Championship in road and TT cycling.  She is one of the sweetest women out there but can tear your legs off of you and beat you silly!  It was great getting to talk to her even more out here in Metz about what she's been going through as a professional female cyclist and how things could be improved to help grow the sport.

Breeze Bars are my savior out here! So good!

One of the reasons we're out here riding is to get more women involved in cycling.  Whether it's to ride your bike to the grocery around the block or to do your first century.  We're pushing ourselves toward the goal of Paris in order to inspire other women to set their goal and go after it.  Julie fits right in to this inspiration story though.  She's well spoken and very driven to help improve women's cycling.  Things like minimum salaries and better media coverage of races are vital to seeing more growth and participation.  She will be moving to Portland, OR soon and hopefully she'll continue to speak out, speak loud about what the sport needs and how we can achieve it!  Thanks for riding with us Julie!
